I've always dreamed of staying in a hut on the beach and Le Pirate blew us away! The huts and resort are beautifully kept, during our week stay, we noticed that many people would stop just to take pictures. Each room has a fan and ac, as well as a lovely outdoor shower. There is no TV and the rooms are simple, but we found this helped us truly appreciate and enjoy the island experience. It is located on the quieter side of the island, there are still plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and it only cost 10k rupiah ($10 CAD) to head into town or $6 to rent a bike for the day.
You are steps from the beach, plenty of chairs and a few hammocks to keep you comfortable. There are also two pools that are refreshing on a hot day. The food was amazing, we had the chance to try several restaurants on the island but nothing compared to the quality and price (try the dragon bowl and tuna tataki). The staff were gracious hosts, they went above and beyond on many occasions, such as helping my fiancé plan a proposal on the beach, including getting flowers sent in from Bali and cooking (and taking care of) a special dinner. We were really sad to leave this gem. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to experience island living, comfortably. With a beautiful location, charming rooms, amazing food and staff, Le Pirate was easily the highlight of our trip. We will be back!
